Title:
Activity-dependent remodeling of chromatin and genome architecture mediates cognitive function in both healthy and diseased states
Abstract: Although the molecular underpinnings of cognitive function, such as memory formation, have been an area of great interest, it still remains elusive and poorly understood. In this talk, I will present our findings, in which we discovered multi-level alterations in chromatin accessibility, genome architecture and transcriptional programs, during various phases of memory formation and recall. I will then present the findings from our recent studies that examine disruption in spatial chromatin organization in different neurological disorders, such as Down Syndrome and Alzheimer Disease, where individuals have deficits in memory and learning.
